The Jacksonville Jaguars lock up one of their elite franchise players for the next five years by extending Josh Allen.
Defensive end Josh Allen, not quarterback Josh Allen, has been a staple on the Jaguars defense for the last five years.
Throughout Allen’s first five seasons he has totaled 45 sacks and 251 total tackles. He was rewarded this morning with a contract extension fit for an elite defender.
Allen was initially franchise tagged heading into the 2024 season. Word around NFL media is that a deal was one of the main goals for the Jaguars this offseason. They succeeded.
Allen signs a five year $150 million deal with up to $88 million in guarantees.

Allen now becomes the third highest paid defensive players on a per-year basis, only behind Nick Bosa and Chris Jones.
