Alex Ierullo follows Taylor Ward as the second forward from the collegiate ranks to join the Ontario Reign this month.

The Ontario Reign have dipped into the college free agency market, signing 24-year-old forward Alex Ierullo of Bemidji State to an amateur tryout contract.

Born in Woodbridge, ON, Ierullo spent three years in the Ontario Junior Hockey League with the Newmarket Hurricanes before going to Bemidji State.

Ierullo spent four years with the Beavers, picking up 96 points in 136 games. His senior year has been his best year, scoring 16 goals and 42 points in 39 games as the assistant captain of the team.

The left-shot forward joins Taylor Ward as recent college signees to the organization and joined the Reign. Ward has picked up two assists in his three games in the AHL.

In addition to the two college forwards, it’s expected that LA Kings prospect Samuel Helenius will join the Reign in the near future as well.

Ontario has a busy week ahead, playing five games in the next eight days. On deck is a game in San Diego on Saturday at 7 pm PT against the Gulls.
